Assessing the effect of rotational grazing adoption in Iberian silvopastoral systems with Normalized Difference Vegetation Index time series

چکیده
Adaptive Multi-Paddock (AMP) is a grazing system which combines intensive, rapid livestock rotation with relatively short periods and long recovery time after grazing. The study assesses, under Mediterranean silvopastoral systems, changes in pasture phenology spatial variability adopting the AMP contrasting land cover (Wooded Grassland vs ) remote sensing approach based on time-series analysis of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) from through Landsat satellite. revealed an overall positive effect rotational NDVI variability. adoption resulted higher estimated values at beginning (under grassland cover), end, peak growing season, while no differences were observed parameters estimating length season. was always lower than continuously grazed areas, except early stages season cover. results suggested that period (4-5 years), can represent strategy to improve forage availability exploitation by animals low stocking rates extensively managed systems.

Vegetation is an important part of terrestrial ecosystems. Although vegetation dynamics have explicit spatial and temporal dimensions, the study of the temporal process is in its infancy. Evaluation of temporal scaling behavior could provide a unique perspective for exploring the temporal nature of vegetation dynamics. 15 صفحه اولEarly Drought Detection by Spectral Analysis of Satellite Time Series of Precipitation and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI)
The time lag between anomalies in precipitation and vegetation activity plays a critical role in early drought detection as agricultural droughts are caused by precipitation shortages. The aim of this study is to explore a new approach to estimate the time lag between a forcing (precipitation) and a response (NDVI) signal in the frequency domain by applying cross-spectral analysis. We prepared ...
